So long 20s....

So I spent all day yesterday cleaning and moving into a new office (again). The previous occupant of 14 years simply never showed up, in spite of having several [i]months[/i] notice.

Nor did he finish packing, meaning Robin and I had to spend several hours throwing 14 years of files into boxes. Then facilities had to come and cut off the padlocks on some equipment so the movers could take it to his new office. Then the cleaning began...

But by the end of the day, it was clean for the first time in a decade and I was really happy with how I got all the furniture arranged. Cramming 4 filing cabinets, 2 desks, 2 bookcases, a whiteboard and a computer workstation into a 10x18 office with 2 doors was no small feat.

Fast-forward to today. I was looking forward to some positive feedback since all my coworkers were out yesterday. Having recently changed offices themselves, Kittie and Elizabeth had a grand total of 2 comments: "You got movers? We didn't get movers." and "This isn't asthetically pleasing." And on top of that, they both left for the rest of spring break without wishing me a happy birthday.

Then it took me 3 hours to drive home in the blizzard, only to find Micaela's Honda stuck in the driveway. I parked around the corner at Midstate and walked home to find that Micaela had broken the discharge chute crank on my new snowblower.

So yeah, my 20s didn't exactly end on a high note.
