Cracks in the BushCo spin machine?
Has Karl Rove finally met a screw-up so massive even he can't spin it ? Or is my friend Keith right when he says "people who are trying to see massive political shifts arising from the Katrina aftermath are indulging in a bit of wishful thinking."Well only time will tell, but it looks like the wheels might finally be coming off the apple cart. We're well past criticism from Sen. Clinton Jon Stewart or even "the liberal's conservative", David Brooks. Even Joe Scarborough and Newt Gingrich are getting in on the action now.
"I think it puts into question all of the Homeland Security and Northern Command planning for the last four years, because if we can't respond faster than this to an event we saw coming across the Gulf for days, then why do we think we're prepared to respond to a nuclear or biological attack?" -- Newt Gingrich
"The bottom line is that despite the fact the president was strapped with two governors who bungled this crisis badly, in the end it is the president who sends in the National Guard and FEMA relief. The president's suggestion that the size of this storm caught all by surprise just doesn't get it. His administration was 48 hours late sending in the National Guard and poor Americans got raped and killed because of those mistakes." -- Joe Scarborough
