Go New Haven (or Kyoto one city at a time...)

On June 6th, New Haven passed an ordinance that allows free metered parking for hybrid and "manufacturer approved" alternative fuel vehicle cars. The City of New Haven website doesn't have any details yet, but it sounds like you'll need to get a special window sticker at City Hall (no biggie) and the car needs to be registered in New Haven (phooey).

No indication on what "manufacturer approved" AFV means yet. VWoA now allows B5 (5% biodiesel blends) in all their TDIs and rumor has it that B20 approval is on the way. Whether or not a B20 powered TDI would qualify for the free parking also remains to be seen.

Still, this is certainly a step in the right direction.
